Lifelines & GrabsWhether you are talking about a simple vertical rope lifeline, or a more complicated horizontal lifeline system, both have the same goal and that’s to keep you safe. The significance of this fall protection component is found in its name…"lifeline." When used properly, a lifeline can allow you to work safely and thus work more efficiently. There are, as alluded to above, different types of lifelines. Most commonly we sell 50ft vertical rope lifelines with some sort of rope grab and lanyard combination. Such as setup is often useful and practical for roofers, construction workers and confined space entries. Just be sure that whatever rope lifeline you buy it’s strong enough and manufactured properly to meet OSHA requirements. If the rope isn’t rated high enough, or if the end terminations aren’t properly made, then a rope lifeline could fail in a fall. All of the rope lifelines we sell are produced by certified fall protection manufacturers with tremendous resources in terms of research and development and product testing. If a simple rope lifeline isn’t enough, then perhaps you can solve your fall protection issue by installing a horizontal lifeline. We sell kits from a few manufacturers, and all accomplish one basic thing…at least two users connected to one line that spans anywhere from 20 – 100ft. These kits allow quick and easy installation and tremendous freedom of movement. When installed properly they also reduce swing fall hazards. |
