The Vertex® Vent didn't necessarily need improvement, but that didn't stop Petzl®. A couple of key improvements have helped to keep this helmet firmly in place as the most popular climbing helmet out there. A 6-point mesh liner conforms to the shape of the head for improved comfort. Shock absorption is achieved through deformation of the outer shell. The CenterFit adjustment system ensures centering and optimal stability of the helmet on the head. The ventilation holes with sliding shutters allow ventilation flow to be adjusted as needed from the outside. Side slots for mounting hearing protection, and inserts for accepting face shields and headlamps (four clips too for mounting a headlamp with elastic band). The chin strap is designed to limit risk of losing the helmet during a fall. Weighs 15.7oz, adjusts from 20-9 - 24.8".
