Crosby Links

Chain is tough stuff, but sometimes it breaks. When that happens, you can often get the chain back together quickly—and back in service—by using a Crosby® repair link. The most popular option is the S-249 Twin Clevis Link. It's made from forged Grade 70 steel and is appropriate for repairing most chains (including Grade 30 and Grade 40 / 43 chains). Keep in mind that while these links are handy, they should not be used on chain that is clearly stretched or otherwise damaged. They are also not legal for use with overhead lifting chains (for overhead lifting, check out the A-1337 LOK-A-LOY 10 Alloy Connecting Links).
