What is This Book About?
Photography and record keeping of logging activities in the Northwest were both generally quite good up until the depression era, and really faltered toward the second world war. The work--logging--never stopped, but the documentation practically did. "This book of High Climbers and Timber Fallers on the North Coast captures the essence of the modern old growth industry from the latter 1970's up to the millennium. It's a final record of what the industry, as a whole, experienced during the change to second growth management. Old growth logging, as it was, is over. This book presents to the reader the end of a magnificent era on the North Coast."
