How warm are these boots?  Will they keep your feet warm for ice fishing?
1 Answer
These boots have only a basic cotton lining, so one should not expect them to be warm as is.  A good pair of thermal socks would be an important addition.

Good product. Good service.

I wear a size 9 boot and ordered 10 which gives me enough room for Husky felt booties (medium) and, somewhat surprisingly compared to my older Viking boots, at least one pair of medium weight socks. The design of the 'rubber' insert on the side of the boot and the slight articulation of the chimney makes these 'easy off'. The continuous top of these VW65s, unlike the models with the snow cuff, make them waterproof to about 12". If you try to pull the cuffs of your 'jean cut' pants over these boots, you will be disappointed––much better are 'real' work pants with 16"+ cuffs. I got into calks when I got to be of an age when a fall could be a show-stopper; they definitely fulfill my needs for that kind of protection.

Should get a size larger than your normal shoe size and get a pair of thermal insoles for them. That helps cause they aren’t really warm when it’s really cold out. But no slipping on frozen wood or on the ice.

Quality Boots at a Reasonable Price
November 14, 2020
Ordered these based on reviews that I had read. Very pleased with the quality, hopefully they hold up as it's only been two weeks. The only reason I did not go 5 stars is I ordered a 12 but apparently these run large, almost a full size larger. And they do not offer half sizes, so I have ordered an 11 and will see how that fits.
  • Comfortable
  • Doesn't come in 1/2 sizes and they run large
