Product Description

Branded With the Pewag Name for Ultimate Theft Deterrence!
High-quality rope and slings are anything but cheap, and protecting them is always a good idea. The same even applies to steel wire rope and chain, which many think of as cut-proof but often can benefit from the protection offered by wear pad material such as this. Unlike common wear pads that are cut-to-length at 12" or 18" in length, we sell this nylon chafe sleeve by the foot. Because it is hollow / tubular, it can be installed in length along the body of your rope, cable or chain and it works as a fixed or movable / sliding protection product.

Intended Use
While you can use this chafe sleeve however you see fit, it is intended for use with Pewag's 9/32" (7mm) Security Chain--it's too small for the 3/8" (10mm) and 1/2" (12mm) chain.

Can you tell me the flat width of this chain sleeve?  It seems if it's a 2" flat width it would be too big.  The Pewag 9/32" is 0.96" outside width.

1 Answer
It is 2" flat width and it fits the 9/32" chain pretty well.

1" sleeve fits the 9/32" chain
July 29, 2021
I have them together on my bike now, 7 feet of both. Perfect fit!
I actually had ordered the 1/2" sleeve and was told after a short email conversation that even though it said on the website it was the size to use it was wrong and I was sent the 1" sleeve at no extra charge. Thanks!
With a Viro lock it looks really good. The Viro lock I used isn't from WESTECH though so I had to ream out the chain a tiny bit to get the lock hasps to fit through it.
That is some tough metal!

Merchant Response:Sorry for any confusion about which sleeve size to use. On each item page (for each sleeve SKU) we have a compatibility to chart and to our knowledge, it's still accurate. If you see anything amiss please let us know and we'll get it fixed right away. Thanks for the business!
Pros
  • Sturdy, extremly well made.
Cons
  • Heavy?
