What is Grade 80 Chain Used For?
Grade 80 chain is the "old standard" for overhead lifting chain. Although it has largely been replaced by Grade 100 Chain
, it still has a strong following and you will find it spec'd into many drawings and engineering documents. This chain is made to NACM 2010 standards--meaning it's made of proper alloy steel and meets the strength and dimensional requirements set forth in the standard. It is also compliant with OSHA requirements for overhead lifting chain. Available in diameters from 9/32" (1/4") up to 3/4", this chain comes in different sizes and strengths to meet your needs. It has a black lacquer finish and a safety factor of 4:1.
Sold by the Drum
We no longer build chain slings using Grade 80 chain, therefore we do not stock Grade 80 chain. We do offer it in both half and full drums (most sizes), however, which allows us to offer it at a very aggressive price. Let us know if you need a special length, or if you have a special requirement for Grade 80 chain.
