Product Description

A drip torch is a device used to intentionally set fires. Fire can be a valuable tool in many situations, for example, backfires are used to create a firebreak in advance of a main fire to starve it of the fuel that it needs to spread. Prescribed burns are lit to reduce fuel buildup and decrease the potential for hotter and more serious wildland fires. Controlled burns are also used to renew forest areas by stimulating germination of certain trees and increasing seedling growth.

Powder-coated red and made of lightweight aluminum alloy, the DOT-Approved WATERAX Drip Torch is designed to withstand the rough treatment that drip torches often endure. What sets it apart from most Drip Torches is its raised-edge one-piece cast base, which makes it a lot more resistant to damage from drops. The safety loop is well away from the flame, so there is no danger of the fuel in the loop (liquid seal) vaporizing from heat. The screw-type vent valve introduces air to the bottom of the tank to relieve the vacuum created as fuel is being used. The wick is made of robust inserted fiberglass and the large handle allows a comfortable grip even when wearing gloves.

I hate to ask you to do this but would you be able to take a photo of the wildfire red drip torch that you have in stock focusing on the handle? They made a skinny handled version several years ago and they are by far much less fatiguing to the hand and forearm. The photo on your site actually shows the thin handled torch.
1 Answer
Please see the attached photo, this is our current stock, hopefully it shows what you need.

Does this torch have a thinner handle than other torches?
1 Answer
We did some research on comparable torches and could not find a spec sheet on the handle size. We did however mic the Wildfire unit we stock and the handle is 1.07 in diameter. We hope this information helps, please contact us with any other questions.
