Product Description

  • Logging winch line cut, coiled and fitted with a tapered ferrule on one end
  • Made with 6x26 WS high-performance swaged wire rope, which is compacted after being closed…this means a greater linear density and higher strength rating
  • This is the best wire rope you can use for general logging operations as it combines high-strength with the best abrasion resistance on the market
  • Use with standard Choker Hooks, including sliders
  • Custom lengths and configurations available, call to order

* It is important to understand that the ferrule (aka nub) that is swaged onto the drumline does not produce 100% of the wire rope's published Breaking Strength. The strength ratings shown on this page are for the wire rope only. It is recommended to always leave at least three wraps of cable on the drum at all times. DO NOT PULL DIRECTLY ON THE FERRULE!

What is the difference between swaged and regular cable? And can I have a swivel auto closing hook added to this cable?
1 Answer
Swaged wire rope is made by compacting regular wire rope into a smaller, denser diameter. Density is key, because the higher weight per foot is what produces the increased strength and toughness you get with swaged wire rope. Loggers know that it will outlast and outperform traditional cable by quite a margin. It is stiffer due to its compacted design, so it's not for everybody. And yes, we can install a hook on the end such as the one you mentioned. If you would like to place an order, feel free to call us @ 800-442-7454.
