Can these be retrieved after temporary use?

Anything is possible, but it'd require a lot of digging and disruption to the soil.  These are intended for permanent installation.

What size hole do I need in wood to pass the anchor through?  What about a 36" anchor?

1 Answer
A 1" hole diameter should be sufficient, please see attached drawing.  To get a 36" cable length you would need to step up to the 88-DB1 which has a 42" cable length.
