Will this chain fit through a 1.5" hole? Do you offer a kit with 5' or 6' chain?
1 Answer
This chain is approximately 1.67" wide, so no, it would not fit though a 1.5" hole. The smaller 10mm (3/8") size will, as it is only 13.8" wide, and you can view that chain here.

We offer many different kits with Pewag security chain and padlocks. We recommend you click here to view all of the kits we offer.

Do you include or at least sell the cover for the chain so it does not scratch up wheels?
1 Answer
Yes, we do offer the chafe sleeve and it is very popular. You can view it by clicking here.

Works Great as a Bike Lock
June 9, 2019
It's probably overkill as a bike lock for most places, but not where I live--San Francisco, in a sketchy neighborhood.

I leave my bike locked outside overnight. I've had three bikes stolen in SF. The previous lock was an Abus Bordo GRANIT X Plus 6500, which was pretty good & lasted a couple of months, in spite of several attempts, but ultimately they got the bike.

I use this chain lock as well as a Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Mini U-Lock. I hoping that these two locks will keep my bike safe. I also intertwine one of the spokes in the Viro to discourage them from going after the bike (because they would have to cut one of the spokes).
ProsIt's a heckuva lock.
ConsHeavy. I wear the lock chain as a bandolier, and you can really feel the weight. Also, the chain is so heavy that it knocks and chips the paint off when it hits the bike's frame because the sleeve doesn't quite cover the entire chain.

Overkill!!! In a Good Way...
February 28, 2019
Wow! Mr T would have had a hard time holding this thing up around his neck back in the day! This could easily double as a boat anchor...there's no way anyone can cut thru this unless you have a torch and a lot of time. Great chain and lock. I'm using it to secure my flatbed trailer to my truck hitch.
Merchant Response:Thanks for the thorough review Dan!
ProsHeavy heavy duty. Super nice finish and I expect it to last a long, long time. I think it's going to be intimidating to the average thief and they will walk on by.
ConsHeavy heavy duty! The 1/2" links are pretty big so if you are limited in space, maybe look at the 3/8" chain.

WOW!
January 6, 2019
I'm impressed with this lock and Pewag chain. My neighbor, Mr Hotshot, said he got something that cut that like butter... so I told him if he cut that, he can have the trailer. So he came back with one of the biggest bolt cutters I have ever seen. He looked at me and the chain and said you nervous? NOPE! He put that bolt cutter on, and a cop drove up, turn on his lights on us! So I explain to him what was going on, of course, he agreed with my neighbor. Thinking that those big bolt cutters were going to cut right through the chain. All I could do is laugh. They both said holy crap! The cop was pretty impressed with the chain and lock, he has never seen or heard of VIRO and Pewag! My hotshot neighbor walked home with is big bolt cutters crying! THANK YOU!
ProsAll pros!
ConsNONE!
