At first, CM didn't offer their Long Reach shackles with a bolt pin. But as their popularity seemed to keep rising, they decided to offer both a screw pin and bolt type model. The good news is that you have a choice, yet the specs between the two models is almost identical. The ratings and pin sizes, along with the dimensions, have stayed the same. There's a slight difference in weight between a screw pin and bolt type model of the same size (the bolt weighs more than the screw pin). The application for these shackles is the same too; they are perfect for accommodating large attachment points. The inside dimensions are very generous, with a long bale and wide throat opening. Because these fasten with a bolt pin and cotter key, they can be installed in semi-permanent applications (they can still be removed by taking out the cotter key and removing the safety nut).
