This shackle is similar to the #102 Bolt Type Shackle, except it has a "chain" pattern--loggers more commonly call this a straight-sided safety shackle. This means there is no bell curve to the shackle, and that the sides run parallel. It is made from hand forged alloy steel, right here in Oregon. The strength-to-weight ratio on these shackles is very impressive, and they hold up well in logging applications.
