One of the most popular turnbuckle styles is the jaw & eye type. For many, it gives them a solid eye fitting on one end with a more flexible jaw fitting on the other end. This can be very convenient for many different rigging scenarios. The round load pins in the jaw end are supplied with cotter keys to keep them securely in place, and the eye on the opposite end has a uniquely round shape that mates well with shackle pins. These turnbuckles are made in the U.S.A. (like most Chicago products). They are made from forged, heat-treated steel with a hot-dip galvanized finish. The load rating is based on a straight vertical load, with a safety factor of 5:1.
