Blue Steel is constructed from high-tenacity, co-extruded and high-strength yarns. It has very minimal stretch and is approximately 35-40% stronger than regular polypropylene. When compared to polypropylene, it also has better UV properties, is easier to handle and offers about twice the wear life. It is resistant to most common chemicals, rot and mildew. It floats on and does not absorb water (specific gravity of 0.91) and melts at approximately 165º F.
