Product Description

You can't buy stronger rope than this! Maybe you've heard about a rope that's replacing wire rope for winch lines…this is it! This rope is made from a special 100% Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE Spectra to be exact, which is actually more durable than Dyneema) that is stronger than wire rope (aka steel cable) size-for-size. To be clear...if you pull this 7/8" rope against 7/8" steel winch line, you will break the steel winch line first. It has many other great benefits too, such as being flexible, easily spliced, repairable in the field and even floating on water. You can even use this rope in freezing conditions!

Around here, in the Pacific Northwest, many call this "logging rope" because so many loggers have used it to make extensions, or even as a drum line (aka winch line). We stock it in common sizes, but we also get special pieces in larger diameters like 1" and 1-1/8". And please, stack this rope up against the competition and you'll see how well it specs out. This is the rope most of our winch lines and logging lines are made from, and we've seen it put to the test time and again. You wont' be disappointed!

  • 12-strand, single braid of 100% Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE)
  • Coated with Maxijacket, provides superior abrasion resistance
  • Braid angles and twist level are designed to optimize breaking strength
  • Runs well over sheaves
  • Zero water absorption and maintains flexibility even in freezing conditions
  • Known as "Logging Rope" in the Pacific Northwest

Can you please tell me if you provide a service to splice each end of this rope?  If so, how big are the splices and (tight eye) how much would it cost?
1 Answer
Yes, please see our Single Braid splice fee at this link.  The typical eye size is 6" or so, but it depends on the customer's needs.  Also, if you want to order a length of rope with an eye on each end, please be sure to allow enough rope to finish the splice.  For example, if you want a 50ft strap with eyes each end, you would need to order 60ft of rope, which allows for 5ft of rope each end to perform the splice.
