Product Description

Nothing But the Best from Pewag--Now in One Slick Box!
When it comes to security chain, Pewag is way out in front of the competition. They have a proven chain design, offering the perfect blend of link design and hardness. For example, their new tapered link design makes it even tougher for bolt cutters to get a proper bite. Additionally, their chain has a case-hardened exterior (62 HRC) with an electro-galvanized finish, which provides maximum protection against crime and the elements. And now, you can get this chain with a great Viro padlock, high-quality Pewag branded chafe sleeve and a convenient storage bag to throw in your RV, trailer or truck box. And if you're giving this as a gift, it comes a slick-looking box for a nice, factory-new presentation!

What About The Lock?
The Viro Blocca Catena #4228 is a true, high-security Viro padlock that was hand selected to work with this 7mm chain--you won't find anything like it at your local hardware store! It has a fully armored brass body with tempered, copper, nickel, case-hardened and chrome plated steel armor. It also features independent and rotating lock-bolts, made of steel with pull-resistant programmed head breakage. Ball type locking mechanism, key retaining and with 5 pin pull-resistant plug. We know that's a lot of tech speak, but the point is that this is a true security lock. And because it's compact and "in line", your chain security package remains small, sleek, lightweight and ready for quick deployment. We picture this as the perfect security chain kit for bicycle, scooter and even motorcycle riders. The lock itself weighs less than 1 lb.

Exactly what I was looking for to lock up and secure a $4500 debris loader to my truck hitch for the season.
  • Expensive

I used this 6' length to secure two dirt bikes. This is a great length for running through both frames and hubs, to a tie-down location. The lock operates very smoothly, and the nylon sleeve slides easily across my gear without scratching anything, and seems highly durable. Very satisfied.
  • Strong. Well made. Works flawlessly.
  • Little heavy for carrying around (ie: as a bike lock).

Light enough to be portable for my bike. Robust enough to have a degree of security for a chain of its size and weight.
  • Chain is a good match for the lock. Lock is not your typical hardware store lock. Will take quite a bit of effort to defeat in a physical attack.
  • I wish one end of the chain had a collar on it. That way, the user could make a "choke collar" and cinch the chain through itself. That way the user would have a longer usable chain length.
